NEJMEH WON'T ABANDON ANY PLAYER, AND IS OPENING ITS DOORS TO MOUSSA HOJEIJ..
The Club's board of directors decided during its weekly meeting taking place on Tuesday December 2001 not to abandon any player in the Football First team including Moussa Hojeij who had been given an sufficient opportunity until Monday December 17, 2001 to complete a professional-contract with clubs outside Lebanon.
With reply to the questions raised by some people, and contrary to what was announced by some medias, the club, and based on its tenderness toward his "son" Moussa Hojeij, has allowed him to travel to Europe with attempts to secure a professional career contract with some of its clubs, and also to head toward the United Arab Emirates for the same purpose, but unfortunately these attempts were unsuccessful.
The Club is concerned to announce that it has informed Moussa Hojeij that whether He stay in the club or not, He is still going to receive all of his rights instantly, and to be treated equally like all of his other teammates. Furthermore, Nejmeh Club, despite the bad financial situation is currently facing, has committed itself to assume additional financial dues through accepting to settle a promissory note the player Hojeij has previously signed in the benefit of Banque Beirut & Riyadh. This step originated from the club management view toward assessing Hojeij situations after failing to secure a professional contract outside Lebanon.
Finally, the club would like to announce that the decision regarding Moussa Hojeij case is related to him personally. As such, if He would like to continue his tour with the club, the club's doors are opened again in front of him. However, if his decision not to return, this will be considered as a regretful thing that doesn't serve in the benefit of Moussa Hojeij as a player who was and still is regarded as one of the faithful children of Nejmeh Sporting Club who assume the responsibility of defending the colors of the club, and stay faithful to its higher benefit.

Nejmeh lost to Sagesse [4-5] in the match that took place on Sunday December 17, 2001 at 6:00 p.m., Beirut Sports City stadium. The match goals were scored by Abbas Atoui [6'], Zein Saad [68'], Mahmoud Karneeb [85'], & Bilal Fleifel [90'] for Nejmeh, and T. Jiacomali [1'], V. Ghazarian [39', 61', 82'], & M. Kassas [51'] for Sagesse.

Nejmeh lacked the efforts of their Defender Mohammad Halaweh, suffering a short term injury, midfielder Alein Nicolas, lacking official clearance letter that didn't reach Lebanon by

the time of the match, and Moussa Hojeij, who is still away from the team. This absence hugely affected the squad without a true Leader in the midfield who can activate this line, and help reduce the pressure from the defense line who carried the match on their shoulders, and eventually fell under the continuous strikes from Mohammad Kassas, Tomi Jiacomali, & Vartan Ghazarian. Meanwhile, Nejmeh side performance was not negligent, as we were able to score 4 times, and create serious danger on the opponents area, but with bad luck, negligence, and strong Sagesse defense we were unable to change anything on the score sheet, and we lost the opening match of the championship. As for Sagesse, they made a great job, and their fans require them to do the same on every match. As for us, the situation is not that pessimistic, and hopefully it will get better with the come back of the team absentees.

December 9, 2001
Nejmeh defeated Al-Ahed [3-2] in the friendly match that took place on Sunday December 9, 2001 at 8:15 p.m., Beirut sports city stadium. The match goals were scored by Youssef Jawhari [11', 57'] for Al-Ahed, Alein Nicolas [14'], Abbas Shahrour [43'], & Bilal Fleifel [91'] for Nejmeh.
Nejmeh showed poor performance, and lacked coherence in all lines due to absence of many basic players. The match witnessed the come back of Errol McFarlane who participated in the 2nd. half, and showed the fans some of its moves that promise more to come.

The other foreign player Alein Nicolas appeared in good shape, scored once and provided his teammates with many passes.

Moussa Hojeij didn't participate, but still managed to watch the match from VIP seats, and is expected to restart the training sessions with the teams on Monday.
In general, disappointing performance that doesn't reflect the true shape of the team. The first true exam is going to be in the first stage of the championship in front of Sagesse on next Monday December 17, 2001.

December 2, 2001
Nejmeh defeated Ikhaa Ahley Aley [2-1] in the match that took place on Sunday December 2, 2001 at 8:00 p.m. Beirut Municipality Stadium. Nejmeh showed a good performance, and the technical manager Omar Mizian had a look on the Cameroonian midfield player Nicola who appeared in good shape, and provided Nejmeh players with many accurate passes. Final decision regarding signing Nicola or not will be taken by the Club board of directors in the coming few days. Concerning Errol McFarlane case, Nejmeh delegation to Trinidad & Tobago composed of Mr. Saadeddin Itani, & coach Omar Mizian were able to reach an agreement with McFarlane to rejoin the team, and He is expected to arrive to Beirut next Tuesday December 4, 2001.

President Omar Ghandour commented on the latest Football actions in Lebanon in the last Sunday interview on Al-Manar TV held by Hussein Yassine.
President Ghandour praised the brave decision taken by H.E Mr. Siboh Hovnanian, minister of Youth, & Sports to discharge the Football Federation on 28-06-01. This historical decision, according to President Ghandour, has put an end to the long era of bad management, and injustice imposed by the previous LFA committee over the past 16 years. Nejmeh Club has always called for the reformation of LFA rules, and acts through many suggestions that were neglected by the authoritative previous committee.
On the other hand, President Ghandour criticized the newly assigned committee by the minister that should have included members from the Football clubs. At the same time, president Ghandour called this committee to launch a field study of the Lebanese clubs in order to evaluate their legal status, and their validity to vote in the upcoming general assembly to elect the new LFA committee.
As for Nejmeh team, President Ghandour mentioned that our team will participate this week in the "President Bashar El-Asaad Tournament"  in Latakia, Syria. This participation would shed the light on the readiness of many of the first team players, and the players newly promoted from the youth team. As for the foreign players, Errol McFarlane has yet to join the team, his 2-year contract with Nejmeh club remains as the sole basis to his relationship with our  Club, & hence all negotiations with the players from other teams must pass through Nejmeh Club. Sunday Oko remains in his position with the team. As for other foreign players, Nejmeh Club is doing some contacts with some agents, nothing is final at the moment.
Back to "President Bashshar Asaad Tournament", Nejmeh team shall leave to Latakia on Wednesday July 4, 2001. Our team will face El-Faisali of Jordan on Friday July 6, 2001, Hittyn of Syria on Sunday July 8, 2001, & El-Karameh of Syria on Tuesday July 10, 2001.
