Expulsion: Edimola was expelled on the 44th. minute from the match after receiving the 2nd. yellow card and Nejmeh had to continue the match lacking one player.

Match Analysis:

Nejmeh wanted to carry on their good performence of last week, and they dominated the match but they lacked the good finishing of the attacks and they lacked Edimola who was expelled at the end of the first half after receiving his 2nd yellow card. In addition, Ahley Saida concentrated on Defence with counter-attacks, but they were faced with a careful defence and goal keeper from Nejmeh. The last 20 minutes of the match witnessed a huge pressure from Nejmeh to score the winning goal, but their attempts failed with the ending whistle of the Syrian refree K. Dellouh. This result kept Nejmeh in the 7th. place in the Championship table with 5 pts. out of 15 possible pts. The situation remains critical and Nejmeh will face Homentmen in next stage ( Dec. 13, 1998) where a winning is vital for both teams..

Goals:

  • On the 54th. minute: M. Hojeij made a One- Two with M. Karneeb and involves into Ikha'a area and hit a strong ball from outside the penalty area to the right of A. Abrahimian. Nejmeh advanced (1-0).
  • On the 63th. minute: M. Hojeij passed the ball to S. Abbas into the penalty area who hit a strong ball to the left of A. Abrahimian into the net. Nejmeh advanced (2-0).
  • On the 84th. minute: M. Hojeij involved into Ikha'a area and passed a ball to A. Sanamian at the let wing area who passed a wide ball to S. Oko who scored the 3rd goal. Nejmeh advanced (3-0).
Match analysis:

Nejmeh achieved their first victory in the Lebanese Football championship after the bad start (1 tie and 2 losses). This victory was very important for Nejmeh players to restore their morales especially after realizing the critical situation in the last period and the problem with the Federation. From the beginning of the match, it was clear that Nejmeh players were willing to do something different, but all their efforts were faced either by the bad climate who and the skills of Ikha'a goal keeper Ara Abrahimian who saved 2 balls in the first half. In the second half, Nejmeh coach R. Makhloufi made the right substitution and entered W. Nazha who activated the forward line at Nejmeh and made many dangerous chances. In addition, the short passes of Nejmeh players played an important role in Nejmeh domination and in the 3 goals.The first goal came with an excellent effort of M. Hojeij who involved for around 25 meters into Ikha'a area and scored a wonderful goal. After the first goal, Nejmeh continued their efforts to increase the result, and they mastered the game and made many chances. Later on, S. Abbas received the ball and scored the second goal, and the excellent performence continued with S. Oko who scored his first goal in the championship with Nejmeh. What was important in this victory was both the good performence of Nejmeh players and the timing of this victory which we hope that will be a turning point for Nejmeh towards better results. With this victory Nejmeh jumped 3 positions in the championship table.
